I think a flyer or a simple internet ad may work best. The flyer could be put out at local muscial gatherings, for instance I know that my town just had Homecoming (featuring live, local bands) and they also host concerts on the commons across from the library. Flyers could be mailed to those who have previously donated or placed in concert halls. As for internet ads, they could be placed on google or a certain website that may have musical tie-ins. Another option could be to use a classical station and run an ad with gambling, music, and boat noises.
On the flyer or internet ad, one would see a graphic of a boat going under a bridge made of the 5 lined musical note background with some notes on it as the road and bridge leading across the water. If possible have the music notes themselves be represented as chips of different colors, but also having the stem of the note attached to them.
The written/verbal part of the ad would tell something about what the organization does and may start with rhetorical questions like: Do you enjoy music? Do you enjoy gambling? Combine the Two on The Building Bridges Through Music’s Gambling Cruise this Fall and help us raise money for…

Well were are talking about having a message. I personally think the message should not be long that the people will begin to ignore it after 10 seconds.

Want to have the best time of your life, gambling?
Avoid all the problems you had in other casinos, we know what troubles they give you, Come and see for yourself how were are unique and how we give you the time of your life GAMBLING!!.

lets skip all the talking and drama, put on some comfortable shoes for the music that will get you moving, grab your keys and leave here with a smile on your face.

This message since it is no long can go in websites, radio, ads or any other kind of advertising.

And the message seems to get to the people, it’s what they want to hear. It does not exactly say all the things we have to offer because that way we can have them curious and make them come. And the same time saying a little bit about the place will grab more their attention.

I think this advertisement should be put on Twitter and other such sites and also said over the radio (repeated) for the best results. People can order online in advance or pay at the door… whatever pleases the person! The advertisement should look very bright (red, purple colors, big and bold with some money-images on the sides) could be like this:
GO AND WAKE UP YOUR LUCK!

And take it easy on the chicks too…..cause there’ll be lots of ‘em! This is a time you won’t forget AT ALL so don’t let anything pass by you!

We’ll even make a deal— better an ounce of luck then a pound of gold—so if you win you get a free beer, but if you don’t win…… We’ll Give You 2 FREE Beers, and A Free Ride Home. Just come and show us what you got… its just 30 bucks for a night of awesome music and wonder fun. Americans love gambling! it is easy to get 100 Americans together to gamble. all you have to do is tap into their greed. they higher the stakes the more interest it will draw. you could start of with introducing a big high payout poker tournament, nothing two high but high enough to peek peoples interests, sense its a charity probably like 5000 dollars. then also make sure to mention all the other games available such as craps, roulette, blackjack, all the other traditional casino games. you could advertise the tournament on facebook, and twitter to reach the younger crowd but would have to work a little harder to scare some of the older generations. one way to get older people interested is to go to local bars and post fliers either near the bar or door somewhere where it will grab people attention. you know if people are out at a bar they have some expendable income so why not try to take some of it. it think if this event is advertised properly it could become bigger than they expected. to cover the prizes for the the poker tournament alone for 1st 2nd and 3rd u would only need to charge a $65 buy in, which isn’t that bad. that number is assuming you get only 100 people, but i’m figuring you could get between 200 and 300. if that was the case you have the potential to make 13000 dollars if all when accordingly. on the other games the house is most likely to make money because that is the tendency with casinos.

Do you like winning money? Do you like listening to all of your favorite music? Well then, Burning Bridges through Music Inc. gives you the opportunity for both on (date)! Get your game face on and come test your luck at (casino) while playing for a great cause!
If you join us and bring a guest along for the weekend, you both get treated to free drinks during your stay! Can this get any better? Yes it can! With a small bus fare, transportation will be provided to and from the casino. Nope, doesn’t stop here! For $50 a night you get to stay in a luxurious room and live the life of a high roller with a free all you can eat lunch buffet!
What can top than this?! You better grab your seats fast because this kind of chance only comes around once!

This advertisement is short and simple and cuts right to the point. I feel that having a short ad that captures one’s attention will be very successful. This ad has all of the details worked out from transportation to the cost of rooms etc. This ad can be put onto flyers with all of the needed information written out. It can also be advertised on social networking internet pages (facebook, twitter, myspace) in which the interest can grabbed and they can look further into right then and there. This advertisement would also be successful on the radio using background sounds such as those of a casino, coins dropping, drinks being poured, people laughing and all kinds of music playing in the background.

well, i remember in class the clientele that this company holds is very large, so it shouldn’t be hard getting people there. I think there would need to be many forms of advertisements, but personally i think personalized invitations would be a good way to get people to go for the more high end clientele this company has. Rich people don’t seem to like advertisements and it would probably make them feel like they matter to receive a personalized invitation to the event. In the invitation it will state the cost per ticket and an R.S.V.P number. They can call and state whether they do or do not want to come and how many tickets they want to reserve. The date to R.S.V.P will be set to an early date so that there is a definite whose going and who isn’t. If they are going to reserve tickets there will be a deposit to hold them so you’re guaranteed money either way. So then when you find out how many people defiantly are going that’s one you advertise on the radio or internet. When you advertise now..you can use the “standing room only” technique to sell the tickets. “Party the night away on our luxury casino cruise. Join us for a nigh of gambling, music and fun all night long from 6pm until midnight on (date). Tickets are (price) and are going fast so order yours today! Something like that would get people’s attention. It is also important to mention that it is for a good cause. People like to know where there money is going. I also think a quick website should be built. On this website it will explain the company and pictures of the boat should be posted. People also like to see what they will be spending there money to be on and want to make sure it is really luxurious and not a random boat with slot machines. Not only do i think it should just be music and gambling, but i think guest should be asked to bring and item for a silent auction. Guys may want to bring their wives, but the wives might not want to go because they don’t want to gamble. Women DO love to spend money though, so i think a silent auction would be good for them. When people gamble though, they do like to drink so i think the first hour should be a cocktail hour and have half price drinks. Based on the fact this company has a big clientele they should be very successful in throwing a fundraiser.

I strongly believe that when you want to advertise something to someone, one should present the product, so custumers should know what they are getting themselves into. Secondly, get straight to the point without talking so much. And ofcourse being repetative, announcing your ad will help a lot. And if you are willing to take the chance of offering them free stuff such as free drinks all night knowing that there might be a possibility that you might win them then that customer is yours.I mean it all depends whom you are really trying to target because there might be people that does not like drink but love to smoke therefore one got to be smarter …

    “LOVE TO DRINK GET BLESSED
    “LOVE TO SMOKE FEEL BLESSED
WOMEN & MEN WITH HOT BODIES IN BATHEN SUITS MODELING AND MUCH MORE….. ALSO PLAY TO WIN 100,000,000,000,OOO…

I think that the best way to go about this would be to advertise in banners on online gaming sites where you reach people who love to gamble. I think a slogan of “Gamble for a Cause and YOU could win big! would work because its short and to the point and gets people interested in the fact that they could gamble for a cause rather then sitting there and gambling for nothing online. I would also think that the online advertising would not be enough, i think that the organization should advertise in every way possible to spread the world so people are aware of the event. The gambling fundraiser is a great idea because people respond to incentives and they are willing to spend a little extra money gambling when they know its for a good cause.

I agree strongly with sblanchetteith because gambling and Americans just go together. I feel that if you make it clear that everyones a winner then you can’t go wrong. Also by advertising on f-book and twitter your target market will most likely be young adults. That being said you could entice them by having a cool, popular band that all the young adults listen too i.e the jonas brothers :) or like Snoop Dogg. But seriously by having a rsvp it will ensure just how many guests you will be tending to so you will know if you need to bump up your V.I.P guest list.
